Entering ihram at the miqat

Pilgrims travelling from Madinah to Makkah for Umrah enter ihram at Dhul Hulayfah, about 14 km from Masjid an-Nabawi. The site has washrooms and areas for wudu and changing. Many pilgrims put on their ihram clothing at the hotel and make their intention at the miqat. Your driver stops and waits. Check your own rules with your group leader or a scholar.

Stopping at Badr

Badr sits roughly 150 km south-west of Madinah, on the way. The via-Badr option visits Masjid al-Areesh, the battlefield and the Martyrs' Cemetery. It takes extra time and costs a little more than the direct fare, so decide before you book.

Arriving at Masjid an-Nabawi

Many pilgrims book their Rawdah visit through the Nusuk app. Check available slots before you travel. Your driver takes you to your hotel door, or the nearest point a vehicle can reach, and helps with your bags.

Taxi or Haramain train?

The train takes about 2 to 2 hours 45 minutes between stations. You still need rides to and from each station with your luggage. The taxi goes hotel to hotel, with stops for prayer and an optional Badr visit.
